The straw hat is indeed one of the most important spring and summer accessories. I was in search of one that could go well with both romantic feminine outfits and also cool outfits. The ideal style of this type of straw hat's brim can't be too narrow or too big. Yes, this one is a perfect length and style and is exactly what I was looking for. I’ve actually seen a few similar styles like this Eugenia Kim one, but my hat has the best price versus quality ratio. The outfit I wore it with is a romantic floral jumpsuit and I promise you girls I’ll show you some cool looks it'll go with in the future. I’m so obsessed with this versatile straw hat.
Hello from Sunny California today. I just arrived and will be here in Silicon Valley for a business trip through the entire week. To get a scoop on my engineering life here, let’s keep in touch on Instagram:) XO
New stripe top and I'm so obsessed with it. I can't get enough of stripes. Wearing it with a denim jacket and ripped jeans are my go to look this spring. Some of you commented on my Instagram and Facebook page that this pair of sandals looks really high and that you may not have the confidence to walk in them. This made me want to share some tips on how to wear high heels.
-Heel type.
The heels that have more cover, an ankle strap or thicker heels are easier than stilettos and thin heels.Wedges and platform heels are also easier. Plus platform heels are back this season, which are indeed a great option. With this pair I'm wearing, the heel is 5.75 inches in total height and the platform is 1.5 inches. So the absolute height is about 4.25 inches. It's much easier to walk in compared to a lot of high heels. I love how they look and how they elongate my legs :P
-Find the right size.
When I'm shopping online, I always look at the description of the shoes before I order. Lots of online retailers have information like true to size or fit smaller in the product detail. You need to find the right size for you.
-Use anti-blister products.
I'm currently using this Julep Doublesteps foot treatment and friction stick. I put it on my feet on the areas where I easily get blisters before I put on my heels. This shea butter treatment is infused with vitamin E and chili pepper oil to stimulate circulation. It also creates a barrier between your feet and shoes to reduce friction and stomp out blisters.
These gels and silicon are really soft for your feet. They help shift the weight and alleviate heel pain.
-Walk in them correctly.
Walk in them from heel to toe. Having good posture helps too. Take small steps. Be confident :)
-Take Breaks.
Try to sit if you need to get off your feet for a little bit. Practice does make perfect, but don't wear heels everyday. Your feet need a break. After wearing heels for a few days, you can switch to other awesome flat shoe options out there like Birkenstocks :P
-Bring foldable flats.
Some heels are really high and tough to walk too long in, but they are so pretty. If you know you will be in these types of heels for long hours, you can always bring foldable flats with you. I have a few pairs of Yosi Smara ones, they are tiny after folding and fit in small bags.
-Be good to our feet.
At the end of the day, after showering, I always put on lotions and creams and that includes putting them on my feet. Massage them for a while as it's good for your feet. This shea butter foot cream is really good. Or get a foot massage and a bubble bath, which are great for our feet.
I hope these tips are really informative and helpful for you to rock your heels. Happy Thursday, loves! Have a great day :) XO
Happy Happy Friday to my loves! This is the dress I wore to a friend's wedding during my San Francisco trip last month. I'm obsessed with the blue print and the cutout. Besides my friend's wedding, I also wore it during a night out with friends and a date night with Mr. SF. It’s really an incredibly versatile dress. I can't believe tomorrow is Valentine's Day already, I’m super excited. Also, since the hottest event, New York Fashion Week, is currently happening, I'm planning to go to some parties/shows this evening to kick off my NYFW this season. Then I’ll spend the night with Mr. SF tomorrow for V-Day. You girls already know what I'll be wearing :P

The jumpsuit is another ultimate chic piece like the cape. This is an outfit I wore on a night out with some friends when I was in San Francisco. It's so easy to put on and there’s no need to think about what to wear with it. I love that it’s so easy because I'm just lazy some days:P (Sorry for wearing the gold Lim bag with almost every single outfit in San Francisco. Hahaha I had to limit the items I brought on my SF and NC trip, but it is such a versatile bag and I proved that by wearing it with almost every single outfit, right?). There are so many types of jumpsuits and everyone can find their own ideal jumpsuit. You really can't go wrong with such a classy piece. I have another silky black jumpsuit with wide leg pants and a loose fit style. So I knew I wanted a slim fit jumpsuit this time. The ruffles with the off shoulder style totally caught my eye and I'm so obsessed with it. A few great occasions like weddings or Valentine's Day will make you standout in your jumpsuit. Most people will wear a dress to a friend's wedding, but nowadays there is no rule that you have to wear a dress to a wedding. The jumpsuit is so chic and pretty. The ruffles add so much femininity and romance to your outfit. If you are looking for something for the upcoming Valentine's Day, in my opinion it'd indeed be a great option.
Most sites are trying to clean out their winter items, so that they can make more room for their Spring items. You girls should check out the Revolve sale in my previous post. I picked some awesome items for you. And of course I couldn’t resist and I bought a few things for myself. Also, Neiman Marcus has a gift card event on regular-priced qualifying purchases using code NMSHOP. You can earn up to a $500 gift card via this event. The event ends on Tuesday night. It's a great time to buy if you have been eyeing a Tory Burch or a Gucci bag :) It's super cold in New York right now with a blizzard about to hit later today, so stay warm babes. Have an amazing Monday and talk to you girls soon :) XO
The days I can’t figure out what to wear, I just throw on a cape. It’s a no brainer. I don’t have to think about what I wear underneath and yet it still looks darn chic. It’s indeed a chic piece every wardrobe needs. Paring it with over the knee boots is one of my favorite ways to wear it. Another great way to wear it is with skinny jeans and Chelsea boots. Have a wonderful Thursday, loves! Talk to you girls soon :) XO
Ta da, this was the red dress I wore to my birthday dinner with Mr. SF this past weekend. The embellishment details on the plunging neckline were what caught my eye, plus red is such a flattering color. I figured that with some friends’ weddings coming up and also with Valentine’s Day next month, I could possibly wear it for those occasions as well. BTW, girls, the red maxi is currently ON SALE. Grab it now before Valentine’s Day and before it sells out :P
It was freezing when these photos were taken. 17 degrees in New York City. I felt as if every single part of my body was frozen, haha. But it was indeed a great and special birthday! Thank you all for the birthday wishes on my Instagram and thank you for stopping by. XO
I got this 3.1 Phillip Lim knit pullover in black ON SALE (almost 75% off) before my Hong Kong trip. It's just like a vest and can be easily layered with a skirt, tee or well fitted sweater depending on the weather. The filament detail makes it unique and stylish. Nothing can beat a stylish buy at a great price. I love this pullover so much since it epitomizes traveling in style. That day we went up to the Peak in Hong Kong, the view was breathtaking and the pictures really can’t do it justice.
Happy Monday, loves! How was your weekend? Have you done any holiday gift shopping yet? Did you see my holiday gift to myself? Here are some great sales that you might want to check out for your beloved friends and family or yourself. Or you can check out my Holiday gift guide too :) XO
Hello my loves! I'm finally back from my Asia trip. It was a great family trip. I got to spend lots of time with them in Shanghai and Hong Kong. But I was homesick and really missed sleeping in my own bed. I missed New York and I missed you girls :)
I'm not a sneaker person, but in the past two years sneakers have really been having a moment and that's changed my feeling toward them. I fell in love with this red pair of air max when I first spotted it. I have so many reasons to love this pair. It has a beautiful bright red color plus it's comfy and stylish. I brought the pair with me to Asia, which was the perfect opportunity to break them in. They were just perfect for traveling. This red pair goes best with black outfits, so I paired it with these black leather pants with cool zipper details.
Thank you so much for reading and have a great Thursday :) XO
I've been living in my floppy hat and pearl accessories ever since I recently bought them. (if you guys remember the post here). Today I want to show you girls a classic and versatile item that will help you transition from summer to fall, the denim jacket.
Every girl should have a denim jacket in their closet because it goes well with so many different items like dresses, skirts, jeans and pants etc. There are also so many ways to wear it such as wrapping it around your waist or layering it with another jacket or coat when the weather gets colder. There are different types of denim jackets: cropped, fitted or oversized. I personally prefer the oversized denim jacket. You can actually wear it well into the fall season and even during the winter if you layer with it. My preference is for this light washed denim color and I wore it with a shirt dress. Do you girls have a denim jacket and if so, what kind and how do you like to wear it?
