Happy Friday, babes! It’s a great day for an off shoulder gingham top and light weight pants. These pantsare just perfect for summer. The material and the relaxed fit are flattering and super comfy, yet still keep the outfit chic. I love that these pants are good for both work and play. And how cute are these gingham tops! Besides pants, wearing them with shorts or skirts are all great ideas.
Anthropologie is having a summer sale up to 50% off right now. My favorites are the jeweled sandals and this dress. Playing with colors in today's outfit by using bag and shoe colors to match different colors of the outfit. I just can't get enough of plaid shirts in my closet. They are so chic and easy to style! I picked a few other plaid shirts in different colors if you girls want to play with colors and make this spring a little more fun. :P
The best sale this weekend is the Tory Burch spring event sale with code SPRING. Get 20% off when you spend $250, get 25% off when you spend $500 and get 30% off when you spend $750. A jumpsuit is one of my favorite items for work because it's stylish, saves time allowing you to not have to think about what to wear/pair and you also don’t need to worry about if it’s work appropriate. The one I picked here is not only great for work, but also tres chic for weekends.
There is a sale that is too good to not share with you girls. SAKSis having a Friends & Family sale - 30% off with code FRNFAM. Sale ends on the 27th, but popular items will go fast. There are some exceptions that apply to this sale. I went through so many items for you girls and picked some great pieces that are eligible for the discount. New stripe top and I'm so obsessed with it. I can't get enough of stripes. Wearing it with a denim jacket and ripped jeans are my go to look this spring. Some of you commented on my Instagram and Facebook page that this pair of sandals looks really high and that you may not have the confidence to walk in them. This made me want to share some tips on how to wear high heels.
-Heel type.
The heels that have more cover, an ankle strap or thicker heels are easier than stilettos and thin heels.Wedges and platform heels are also easier. Plus platform heels are back this season, which are indeed a great option. With this pair I'm wearing, the heel is 5.75 inches in total height and the platform is 1.5 inches. So the absolute height is about 4.25 inches. It's much easier to walk in compared to a lot of high heels. I love how they look and how they elongate my legs :P
-Find the right size.
When I'm shopping online, I always look at the description of the shoes before I order. Lots of online retailers have information like true to size or fit smaller in the product detail. You need to find the right size for you.
-Use anti-blister products.
I'm currently using this Julep Doublesteps foot treatment and friction stick. I put it on my feet on the areas where I easily get blisters before I put on my heels. This shea butter treatment is infused with vitamin E and chili pepper oil to stimulate circulation. It also creates a barrier between your feet and shoes to reduce friction and stomp out blisters.
These gels and silicon are really soft for your feet. They help shift the weight and alleviate heel pain.
-Walk in them correctly.
Walk in them from heel to toe. Having good posture helps too. Take small steps. Be confident :)
-Take Breaks.
Try to sit if you need to get off your feet for a little bit. Practice does make perfect, but don't wear heels everyday. Your feet need a break. After wearing heels for a few days, you can switch to other awesome flat shoe options out there like Birkenstocks :P
-Bring foldable flats.
Some heels are really high and tough to walk too long in, but they are so pretty. If you know you will be in these types of heels for long hours, you can always bring foldable flats with you. I have a few pairs of Yosi Smara ones, they are tiny after folding and fit in small bags.
-Be good to our feet.
At the end of the day, after showering, I always put on lotions and creams and that includes putting them on my feet. Massage them for a while as it's good for your feet. This shea butter foot cream is really good. Or get a foot massage and a bubble bath, which are great for our feet.
I hope these tips are really informative and helpful for you to rock your heels. Happy Thursday, loves! Have a great day :) XO
A pair of Birkenstock really isn’t new and I've been asking myself the same question over and over if I should get a pair every year ever since they came back in trend. This year I finally put my hands on it. Why now?
-They are super comfy. It's really good for my feet to get some rest after walking in heels for long hours. I did some research and found out that the firm support from Birkenstock is good for our feet and really is the kind of support your feet need as opposed to shoes that provide you soft or cushiony support.
-They are casual and chic. They probably won’t win best looking shoe accolades, but they still make your outfit look chic instantly. If you are looking for something casual to wear while still looking great on the weekend or anytime off-duty, they are indeed one of the best choices.
-They are so versatile. I can think about wearing them with shorts, a mini-skirt, a flowy maxi, boyfriend jeans, wide-leg pants or cropped and ripped jeans like what I wore in today's outfit.
-They have one of the best price versus quality ratios. Last year Givenchy had this pair of floral slipper sandals and Rachel Zoe had this pair of metallic sandals. Berks retail price is way more affordable and before I made this purchase, I read lots of online reviews and it seems as if a lot of people are happy with them.
-They are not going away anytime soon. I saw quite a few pairs of new arrival sandals this season. None of them look exactly like the Berks since they are all slipper sandals in similar styles. I don't think Berks are going away anytime soon. Ok, by the time they go out of trend, you can save them to pass them on to your future generations like how they came back in trend this time, hahahaha.
-They can be worn almost all year long. Except on those really cold winter days, you can wear a pair of grey socks with Birkenstock even in the winter. That's why they are worth every penny you spend.
So this year I said to myself, why not! I got this white Birkenstock pair. There is another pair in a really similar style in white and it's about $40 cheaper. You can check the pair out, plus you can get them for $15 off using code SPRING15 when you spend $100. To make full use of the sale, my ripped jeans and the sleeveless trench are all included in this sale. You can get a max $50 off with code SPRING50 when you spend $200. This sale is just too good to pass up on, so I picked a few other things for you girls below.
Back to the topic, what do you girls think of Birkenstock? Do you already have one or even a few pairs or are you thinking about finally getting one pair this season? :P
[Parisian Woman]: I'm going to buy myself a LONG COAT
I had been trying to figure out the title for today's post when this conversation from the book "How to be Parisian Wherever You Are" came to my mind. Hahaha. It's just too funny. Yea, why don't I just call today's post “The Parisian Long Coat”. This long coat I found during a season ending sale at an insanely great price. Another hot pink coat on sale is only $38 and this red coat is only $53. If you are looking for a camel coat, I also like this one and this one a lot in different style. They are on sale too :)
The sales I recommend you girls check out this weekend are:
-The denim sale at Saks. It's up to $150 off using code DENIM15. It's $25 off $150, $75 off $300 and $150 off $500. If you've been craving a pair of premium denim, it's a good time to put your hands on it :P This one, this one and this one are all great choices. Sale ends tomorrow.
Thank you so much for reading and Happy Chinese New Year to all of you! I’m wishing you and your family a prosperous year ahead in the year of the Sheep :) XO
Once again, I wore my favorite beloved white slip-ons, but this time I paired them with a skirt. If you want to look stylish, white slip-ons or shoes have the power to instantly elevate your style and make you look like a street style star. Yea, that's the power of white sneakers. And why I'm currently eyeing another pair of white sneakers. What do you girls think? Today, I’m going with a chunky knit for a cozy day with my black and white skirt. I adore the skirt so much. The skirt is actually much thicker than it appears online, which is perfect for winter. I love how it feels and fits me. It's currently ON SALE too. The chunky knit is only $22, but I'm so sorry girls because it's sold out. However, I found a similar one at the same price point for you girls. TGIF, loves! Wishing you an amazing weekend and I will talk to you girls very soon :) XO
